Bill Gates Live!

I went to attend the Bill Gates live last friday(30th July). This is really a great experience. There are three main sessions in the whole talk.
The first one is Bill’s talk. It is my first time to meet who is the richest person. At the talk, it is really quiet at the seats; maybe everyone wants to get some hints from him to achieve success. He shows 10 big trends in the next 10 years. Well, for me, the part for me maybe is service-oriented architecture. He says that the architecture skills are most important in the area of software engineering. The second one is a Microsoft demonstrator. He demonstrates the Microsoft Visual Studio, .Net framework, Microsoft Home Theater Edition, the most-invested Longhorn Operating System. These products are really worth to expected. The third talk is given by Mr. Sim Wong Hoo, who is the CEO of Creative Technology. He is really humorous, and gives a great talk about how a company can survive and win. He says, risk, risk, then you can reach the Jackpot. You must pay price before you get something.

Key Developments in the next 10 years:

  • Performance of “Wintel” hardware
  • Digital Workstyle, lifestyle
  • Wireless, portable, tablet, phone
  • Service-oriented architecture
  • Software Breakthroughs
  • Digitization of life

The new Visual Studio 2005 Express edition can be downloaded at http://msdn.microsoft.com/express.

Creative: how? Push to, force to.

  • Take calculated rish
  • Be very, very focus
  • Be very lean
  • Only commit to your dream!

Risk, Risk … then you can hit the Jackpot!!

How CHEAT(create huge excessive technology)?

  • Don’t follow rules set by others.
  • Play by your own rules.
  • Set your own rules whenever possible.
  • Throw road blocks behind you.
  • Be tenacious.
  • Convert bad things to good things,
Eg. When having software bugs, see them as a future update feature.
  • Blame others.
Eg. Blame the OSes for all your bugs.
  • It is also called Sexed-up marketing.

Prepare to pay the price.

Bring some value to somebody.
